Saying: Beggars can’t be choosers
When you realize that you have only one option and must accept it, you use the saying beggars can’t be choosers.
It means you can’t complain about a situation when you only have one option.
So, in what kind of example situation can we use this saying?
Well, imagine that you’re a little girl out for a nice walk in the forest.
Suddenly, you hear a crash of thunder, the sky turns dark, and it looks like you will have a downpour.
You don’t want the rain to ruin your lovely summer hat, but the problem is you don’t have an umbrella.
So what do you do?
You get under the nearest giant toadstool, naturally.
Beggars can’t be choosers, you know.
Yep, enormous mushrooms can come in very handy sometimes.
