Contract

This contract is the verb form of contract which means to catch an illness or disease. You can contract the flu or malaria for example.
A medical mask can help reduce the risk that you will contact a disease, but you should properly dispose of them.

Word of the Day: Contract

No, I’m not talking about a legal document today. This contract is the verb form, which means to catch an illness or disease.

For example, you can catch the flu, but you can also contract the flu.

Of course, getting the flu vaccine each year would help to reduce the severity of if you were to catch it. The vaccine would be a small price to pay, for peace of mind, don’t you think.

You can also contract many other diseases such as malaria, AIDS or the Ebola virus.

For English language learners using the word contract instead of catch will increase the level of your vocabulary a little bit and show that you have a broad knowledge of vocabulary.

I hope nobody who is reading this contracts the flu, malaria or Ebola this year.

Take care and have a happy life, guys and gals.
