English Proverb: Many hands make light work

Many people have fond memories of their school days.

Unfortunately, though, being a school student also means enduring school assemblies.

In my school days, students would set up the chairs in the gym for each assembly.

It may have seemed like a mammoth task, but many hands made light work.

Many hands make light work means the more people working on a project, the faster it gets done and the less each person has to do.

When 30 students and two teachers set up the chairs for a school assembly, you can do it in 15 minutes.

The more people working on a project, the quicker it gets done, and the less each person has to do.

In other words, many hands make light work.

If only everyone in a family realized that when it’s time for spring cleaning or even just clearing the supper table, many hands will make light work for mom, too.
