Word of the Day: Eye candy

Eye candy is the best kind of candy because you can have as much as you want, and it has no calories.

But what exactly is eye candy?

Well, it’s attractive and catches your attention, but it’s not useful, or your interest in it will not last long.

If you need an example, look at the TV.

Many of the personalities on TV are eye candy; they are only on TV because they look good and attract viewers.

They don’t say anything helpful, thought-provoking or necessary.

They are there because they look good.

There has been an ongoing debate in the United States concerning the way that female news presenters are required to dress.

In many cases, they dress in an alluring and sexy style.

Why?

The male gaze, of course.

These women are highly educated and highly professional people.

Requiring them to dress like eye candy insults them and educated, intelligent viewers alike.
