To hold all the aces means you're in a very dominant position and have all the advantages just like a poker player with four aces.

Saying: Hold all the aces

Regarding business, holding all the aces is the best position in which you can find yourself.

It’s the best position because, just like having a poker hand, which is all aces, it means you’re in a very dominant position and have all the advantages.

In a business sense, when smaller companies deal with large companies such as Apple, GM, Toyota or Facebook, the larger companies often have the upper hand.

The smaller companies generally do not have much bargaining power with these more significant, powerful companies.

The big corporations have more resources and, therefore, hold all the aces.
