English Expression (slang): Make it rain
Have you ever wanted to make it rain?
I have.
And I did.
When I was younger, I was a great saver, and I was a backpacker.
My wife and I took a pre-honeymoon to New Zealand for a year.
Yeah, that’s right, we had the honeymoon before the wedding.
It’s called putting the cart before the horse.
That, however, is a story for another day.
I worked as a private English teacher in New Zealand and made decent money.
Remember that this was years ago, so the money is all gone now.
As I said, I made quite a bit of money and saved it all in cash.
One time, when I had $10,000 NZ saved up, I decided to make it rain.
I took all of the bills and threw them up into the air to see what it was like.
Making it rain means throwing paper money up in the air so it falls down like rain and lands on the ground or floor all around you.
It was pretty cool.
Money was flying everywhere for a few seconds.
One of the privileges of the young is doing silly things.
One of the ridiculous things I have done is make it rain.
