English Phrase: On a wing and a prayer

I am sure you felt you had not prepared enough for the test, but you had to take it anyway and hoped you would do well.
That’s the definition of the expression on a wing and a prayer.
You use this phrase when you have to do something without enough preparation.
Let me give you some advice; you will never feel adequately prepared for anything, whether it be your next English test or life in general.
We all go through life on a wing and a prayer.
That’s why life is so exciting.
