Word of the Day: Gem
Precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, and rubies are usually called gems.
They are all rare and hard to find.
Well, ladies, Valentine’s Day has recently come and gone, and let me tell you that your husband can also be called a gem.
I know he does not look like a diamond, but he can still be just as precious.
You see, the word gem can also mean something or someone exceptionally good or useful.
If your husband is great with the kids, cooks supper and is not afraid to clean the toilet, then he is a gem, and you should keep him.
You can use the word in other ways, too.
If there is an excellent coffee shop in your neighbourhood, you can also call that a gem.
