Word of the Day: Indisposed

If you search for the word indisposed in a dictionary, the definition will tell you that it means to be ill and unable to do something.

For example, if you have influenza and cannot go to work, then you are indisposed.

There is another usage of this word, however.

Indisposed is a nice, polite way to say someone is in the bathroom or using the toilet.

Imagine that you are at home.

You decide to take a long, relaxing bath, but while lounging in the tub, the phone rings and your darling answers.

Your boss is calling.

Your sweetheart says you are using the bathroom and asks your boss to call back later.

EMBARRASSING! Well, the easy way to avoid embarrassment is for your darling to say that you are indisposed and will call them back when you are free.

Problem solved; nobody is embarrassed.
