Lesson: Appeal of the Unshaven

Beards are not just for the Taliban. Nothing says Canada like ice hockey, and nothing says ice hockey as loud as a playoff beard. Every spring, for reasons of superstition, players on teams that have made it to the playoffs refuse to shave until their team is eliminated. For this reason, Canadians are used to big, bushy beards. Also, every November in North America, men grow facial hair in a special ‘Movember’ campaign to raise awareness of men’s mental health issues. Then there is the fact that women love men with beards. Living in Japan, I rarely see men with facial hair. Here’s a question for the ladies – Do you find facial hair attractive? If you are a man, I’d like to hear your thoughts on facial hair.
