Lesson: Boomers
The Baby Boomer generation includes people born from 1946 to 1964, a time when birth rates rose sharply after World War II. Boomers grew up during years of economic growth, new technology, and major social changes. They saw important events like the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and the moon landing. Baby Boomers helped shape modern society by influencing culture, politics, and the workforce. As adults, they drove economic growth and the spread of suburbs. Over time, they became known for a strong work ethic, valuing individualism, and chasing the “American Dream.” Now, as many Baby Boomers retire, there are changes in the population and new questions about healthcare, pensions, and financial fairness between generations. Their influence is still felt as they move, or sometimes resist moving, into retirement.
