Lesson: Busyness

When you were just a child learning English, greetings were one of the first things you were taught. How are you? I am fine, thank you and you. That’s how it went. Well, the question has remained unchanged, but the answer has not. Busyness is highly respected in our fast-paced world. Ask someone how they are, and they are more likely to reply with ‘busy’ than anything else. About a hundred years ago, respectable people were the ones who had ample leisure time and rarely worked. In modern times busyness is a measure of a person’s worth. If you are not busy, you’re not anybody.
