When in a conversation, hand gestures are essential to convey your meaning. They are all the more important if you speak English as a second language.  Did you know that hand gestures are almost the same in most languages? Even if you don’t understand the words someone is speaking to you, there is a good chance you will get the gist of what they are saying from their hand gestures. Gestures will also make you seem more charismatic and even help people like you more quickly. Yes, in combination with eye contact, gestures can convey more meaning than the actual words you say.
