Lesson: East Vs West: Thinking Differently

As a Canadian, living in Japan is easy. In many ways, it is very similar to Canada. Japanese value their national healthcare system, and gun ownership is not considered a right. So, living in Japan is easy. Living with the Japanese, however, is not. As an individualist thinker, many things that the Japanese do, frustrate the hell out of me. To my mind, there are many lost opportunities here that the Japanese fail to take advantage of, but this is Japan, and people do things in different ways. Although Japan is Westernized, it is not Western. The culture and way of thinking are that of the East. How and why do East and West think differently?
