Lesson: Entomophagy – Bon Appetit!

I’m guessing you don’t have the slightest clue what entomophagy means. That’s alright. Neither did I when 2021 began. Now we’re going to have a lesson on it. According to the Cambridge online dictionary, entomophagy is “the practice of humans eating insects as food.” Doesn’t that sound nice? Well, it may be the way all humanity is going. Our population is becoming so large that we’re putting immense strain on the resources we have. Insects are supposed to be loaded with protein. Does that make up for the yuck factor? Perhaps it’s an acquired taste. Speaking of acquired tastes, if you live in Tokyo, you may want to check out the restaurant Ellie, and we can talk about your culinary experience in class. Bon Appetit!
