Lesson: Feeling hot, hot, hot!

I wanted to begin this lesson introduction with ‘hi,’ but I thought it might cause you trauma due to all of the high temperatures the world has experienced recently. How did you fare, by the way? This summer heat just killed me. I was unable to get out and go for my characteristic long walks. For the most part, I stayed inside with the AC on. Therefore, I’ve gained five kilos. Yes, it’s true. I’m now in crisis mode, trying to shed the weight. Do you feel that this summer was a taste of things to come? Scientists have been predicting climate change for years, and now, here it is. What measures do you think we should take to prevent the situation from worsening? I don’t want to traumatize you further but try to think about this past summer and how it bodes for the future.

Each conversation topic is based on a theme. In order to help students acquire a basic understanding of that topic, four media articles are provided for them to read. I will never test you on the articles, but I strongly suggest you book lessons far enough in advance to give yourself enough time to properly prepare. The better prepared you are, the more benefit you will receive from our conversations.
