Lesson: Flygskam

In 2019 Greta Thunberg eschewed flying and took two and a half months to sail to New York to address the United Nations on climate change. That’s when the Swedish word ‘flygskam’ or ‘flying shame’ took flight. Now here we are two and a half years and a worldwide pandemic later, and there is a resurgence in the avoidance of flying. Sure, there are worries about being infected with COVID-19, but the COP26 climate change summit also plays a significant role. People are thinking twice before taking unnecessary ‘luxury’ flights.
