Lesson: Incident Properties

Nobody gets out of life alive. We all need to die sometime. Where and how we die, however, can cause problems, especially in real estate. Many people die in their homes, and this tends to stigmatize the building. When a violent crime is committed in a house, it often needs to be torn down or rented/sold for a meagre price. Surprisingly some people do not mind living in an incident property that has witnessed a suicide or murder. In our house hunting days, my wife and I did look at 事故物件 (jiko bukken – accident homes), but my wife was adamant that she would never live in one. What do you think and what should be done with so-called incident properties?
