There may be something to the old stereotype of a brilliant researcher, professor or tinkerer hidden away in a laboratory somewhere – alone. It may be that intelligent people don’t need friends. They may be clever enough to do things independently and not need the benefit of working in groups. Perhaps they are a product of evolution. Humans developed to be social and depend on the strengths of each individual working together to achieve a common goal. Do intelligent people become loners because they are so smart? Are they more highly evolved?
