How are you feeling today? Happy? Sad? Grumpy maybe? Hmm. We don’t see it happen, but it eventually does. We wake up one day and discover that we are a grumpy old man or woman. Some people call it the “grumpy old man complex,” and British author Carol Wyer names it “irritable male syndrome,” but whatever label you use, the effects are still the same – old men (and sometimes old women) are grumpy. But why? The answer to all questions lies in the economy, and the economy may also play a role in our irritability.
