Sports athletes are beginning to rebel against the overbearing power of their organizations and the pressure of the media. Most recently, Naomi Osaka, the darling of the tennis court, who, due to mental health issues, refused to meet with reporters at the French Open. As a result, she was penalized by the heavy-handed officials. Her fellow athletes from various sports have come forward to offer support. Naomi Osaka has been in the spotlight for only a few years, yet she has already made waves first with her BLACK LIVES MATTER support and now, her mental health crisis.
