Lesson: Nature in Wartime

The world is shocked at the devastation of Ukraine at the hands of Vladimir Putin and Russia. Missiles indiscriminately rain down on homes and workplaces, causing death and destruction everywhere. We feel for the people forced to leave their homes and those who have died. Humans are not the only ones suffering. If you watch enough videos, you will notice the number of stray pet dogs running around. Russian troops caused much disturbance to wildlife in the Chornobyl exclusion zone and other wildlife refuges. Explosions are disturbing the land and releasing hazardous chemicals into the environment. What is the cost of the Russo-Ukraine war on nature?
