Lesson: Our Digital Remains

What happens to our digital selves after we die? Perhaps this is a topic you have given some thought to, but I’m betting you haven’t. What would happen to your digital remains in the event of your death? Would your loved ones be able to access your social media pages and shut them down or memorialize you there? The number of online accounts we have is only going to increase in the coming years. Unfortunately, I have had the unfortunate experience of one of my students passing away. They continued to receive my Tuesday & Wednesday emails and holiday notifications until their husband informed me that his wife had passed. Although this may be a somewhat morbid topic, experts suggest we make plans now for our digital remains.

The better prepared you are, the more benefit you will receive from our conversations.
