Lesson: Preppers

The end is coming. Sometime shortly, the Western world will descend into chaos, and if you are not prepared, there will be no one to help you. You need to run, walk, drive or hop if you have to, get to Costco or some other large store, and start purchasing the supplies you need. The Americans are preparing guns and improving their hunting skills. The British have inflatable canoes so they can get away quickly in case there’s a flood. These people are called preppers. They spend much time and money building safe houses and stores of supplies to be ready when a nuclear attack happens or if society breaks down. What’ll we do in Japan? Probably wait in a gymnasium somewhere for everyone else to die because they refused to wear surgical masks. Then we’ll enjoy a nice hot bath.

Each conversation topic is based on a theme. In order to help students acquire a basic understanding of that topic, four media articles are provided for them to read. I will never test you on the articles, but I strongly suggest you book lessons far enough in advance to give yourself enough time to properly prepare. The better prepared you are, the more benefit you will receive from our conversations.
