Lesson:

Repair Café

In 2009, Martine Postma created the first repair café in Amsterdam. The idea quickly took off and still has legs today. Consumers are tired of throwing away perfectly good devices and electrical appliances because one little part has broken. They are fed up with Planned Obsolescence and companies refusing to repair or making it impossible to repair the items they produce. Countries worldwide are working on Right to Repair legislation to put the power to fix back into the hands of consumers.
