Lesson: Resilience

Everyone goes through hard times. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, becoming redundant at work or losing a home by way of a natural disaster, a loss can alter our circumstances suddenly and dramatically. How do we bounce back? Why is it that some of us can recover and move on from such a loss, whereas others require much time before they can attain some semblance of normalcy? The word we are looking for is resilience. You may also hear grit, tenacity, strength, pluck or fortitude to describe a person’s ability to recover after going through a challenging situation.
