Lesson: Return of Stolen Artifacts

Museums in Western countries are full of stolen artifacts from poorer countries. Often these artifacts were taken from their original owners. These cultures and governments want their stuff back. Western museums are reluctant to return it because they say they are ‘protecting’ it. What is your opinion on the matter? Should Western museums return or repatriate these artifacts? Or should they be ‘kept safe’ for future generations? The next time you are in a museum, let this be some food for thought
