There’s no denying that education dramatically improves a person’s chances in life. The increasing cost of higher education poses a significant challenge to many people, though. Many parents divert earnings towards savings for their children’s education instead of spending it. On the other hand, many students graduate with crushing debt because they cannot receive financial help from family. Education is good for individuals, the economy and the government. Are these good reasons for governments to provide free post-secondary education for those who can benefit from it?
