It’s no surprise to hear Tariff Man, otherwise known as Donald J. Trump, has fired a new shot in a trade war. He has been anti-globalization for a long time. I was shocked when I heard that Japan had restricted the export of sensitive chemicals used in chip production to Korea. Is Japan now jumping onto the tariff war bandwagon? What does this say about globalization in general? It has been said that Brexit and Trump’s election are two significant signs that the world is stepping back from globalization. Yes, this is a big topic and perhaps a heavy one. You know what? You can handle it. See you in class.
