Lesson:

Side Hustle

I hope that all is going well for you. This lesson is about side hustles. The days of lifetime employment are coming to an end not only in Japan but in most other Western nations as well. The 2008 banking crisis was the catalyst that made many workers realize that things can change for the worse very quickly. As a result, people started pursuing side hustles to have something to fall back on or a way of building up a nest egg or a rainy-day fund. Japanese millennials are following this trend to increase their earnings and pursue things that make them happy. Side hustles are not gigs. A side hustle is a job that a person has in addition to their day job.
