Lesson: Sneakerheads

Most people have two things in common. First, we all wear clothes, so we have some relationship with fashion. Second, everyone has a collection of something. It doesn’t have to be a physical collection necessarily. Some travel around Japan, for example, eating ramen in each prefecture. That is a type of collection. These two things bring us to today’s topic – Sneakerheads. Sneakers, or running shoes, are collectible, with rare ones worth thousands of dollars. Of course, they have to be in pairs. What is anyone going to do with one sneaker? Sneakers are collectable items, but they are more than that. They are cultural and fashion icons, as well as very personal items. Let’s discuss sneakers, fashion and culture.
