Solo Living

No matter where you live in the Western world, there’s a growing chance that you are single and living alone. If you are female, you may be a well-heeled, well-educated professional. If you’re male, you could be overworked and underpaid. When this trend towards solo living was in its nascent stages, society tried to fight it. Now, however, singles are being accommodated and seen as a growing market for businesses of all kinds. Almost half of my students live alone, and probably most of them have lived alone at some point in their lives. Let’s talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of solo living.
