Lesson: The Art of Appreciation
Today, right now, as you read this, is the best time in the history of humanity to be human. It may not feel like it, but that is your fault. You are not doing things right. You don’t have enough money, a large enough house, your dream job, you’re getting old, and you’re finding it hard to keep up with technological change. Yes, these are all of the things that are troubling you. But this is also looking at things the wrong way. Like I said earlier, it doesn’t feel like the best time to be alive, but that is your fault.
Now, let’s look at what you do have. Chances are, you are not American. That means Donald J. Trump is not your president. See, things are already looking good. There is also a high chance that you are Japanese. That means you live in a peaceful nation with affordable, if not free, healthcare, healthy food, and potable water. Although prices are rising, Japan is still cheaper than every other G7 nation. Also, you are reading this in a foreign language. That fact, in itself, means you are highly educated. Appreciate what you do have; don’t worry about the things you don’t.

I will never test you on the articles, but I strongly suggest you book lessons far enough in advance to give yourself enough time to properly prepare. The better prepared you are, the more benefit you will receive from our conversations.
