Ladies, not only are the robots going to take your jobs, but they’re going to take your men, too. It’s in the news all over the place that young men are engrossed in video games and pornography. Single, lonely young men with no romantic or intimate partners are a dime a dozen these days. But not for long. Now, men can create the custom AI girlfriends of their dreams and never have to take her out for dinner or provide emotional support. If she begins to nag, they can shut her down with one touch of the power button. What is the world coming to? Is this the ultimate in technosolutionism or simply a dream come true for creepy guys in their moms’ basements playing video games in their underwear? This may be a transient fad; then again, it could be a sign of a future yet to come.
