Lesson: Vaccine Passport

As the world entered the pandemic in March 2020, nobody knew how long it would take to develop a vaccine. Now, not only do we have a vaccine, we have several. It’s expected that as vaccinations ramp up around the world, people will once again begin to travel. This is where today’s topic comes in. Should those people who have been vaccinated against, recovered from, or tested negative for COVID-19 be required to prove so with a so-called vaccine passport? Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as all that. A vaccine passport may infringe on a person’s human rights or right to medical privacy or instigate discrimination. There are many issues to consider as the world comes out of the pandemic and returns to a new normal.
